Dr. Rajan Parajuli joined the NCSU Extension Forestry team on January 2, 2018.

NC State University Extension Forestry is beginning 2018 by welcoming a new Assistant Professor and Extension Specialist in Forest Economics, Dr. Rajan Parajuli. Before joining the NCSU Extension Forestry team, Dr. Parajuli was a forest economist at Texas A&M Forest Service where he worked in timber price reporting, timberland taxation, and economic impact assessment of the forest sector. Dr. Parajuli received his PhD in forest economics and policy, an M.S. in forest economics and management, and another M.S. in finance from Louisiana State University.

Dr. Parajuli specializes in forest product market modeling, forest product trade and policy analysis, economic impact analysis, carbon and bioenergy markets, and forest finance. He will be developing an extension program focusing on areas of timber marketing and forest economics, and in particular, the modeling of forest economic impact, financial management of forest assets, non-industrial private forestry, and forest certification. Dr. Parajuli can be reached at rparaju@ncsu.edu, and is based on the 4th floor of Jordan Hall Addition on NC State’s campus.
