What an opportunity... TWO early childhood environmental education curriculums in one workshop! This workshop will feature Project Learning Tree's Trees and Me: Activities for Exploring Nature with Young Children and Project WET's Getting Little Feet Wet activity guides. Every participant will leave the workshop with a copy of BOTH guides - a $52 value! This is truly a unique workshop, facilitated by two early childhood educators that use the outdoors as their classroom daily with young learners, and hosted at a NAEYC accredited childhood education facility that will provide you with ideas for your our own early childhood learning spaces.
The PLT Trees and Me! guide includes 12 activities and over 150 individual learning experiences to connect young children to nature, with a focus on trees and forests. Through both outdoor and indoor activities, children explore nature through their senses, experience trees throughout all four seasons, and connect with their community. The Project WET Getting Little Feet Wet guide contains 11 interactive, hands-on activities for young learners to explore different aspects of water—from water properties to water sounds. These two guides together will leave you with endless opportunities to learn and explore with your learners!
This workshop qualifies for Criteria I or II in the EE Certification Program (early childhood).
The PLT activity guides are provided free of charge to participants through support from the NC Forestry Association and WET guides are provided by the NC Division of Water Resources. If the cost of this workshop is a barrier for you, please reach out to the the NC PLT Coordinator, Renee Strnad, at renee_strnad@ncsu.edu.
