Wood for You and Your Community Workshop
Wood for You and Your Community Workshop
When: Tuesday, August 4th | 8 AM - 4 PM ET
Where: Watauga County Extension Office
971 W King St, Boone, NC 28607
Throughout the Appalachian Mountains, wood is a thriving, abundant resource. While individual timber processing is highly economical on its own, its true value is unlocked when the community partners with local producers to meet their material needs.
Join us as we explore the ins and outs of utilizing wood in and around your community as an opportunity for a small business. We will share expert knowledge about portable sawmill and firewood production operations. We will also highlight other opportunities for wood utilization.
The morning will focus on building a strong technical background. After lunch, we will head into the field to see two live operations in action and acquire more practical insight into the everyday processes that make the business successful.
Registration:
The cost for the workshop is $25. This includes lunch and transportation to and from the field portion of the workshop.
