Collapse ▲Join the North Carolina Prescribed Fire Council and NC Longleaf Coalition for their joint 2022 Annual Meeting at Millstone 4-H Camp in Ellerbe, NC!
The North Carolina Prescribed Fire Council will host our 2022 Annual Meeting in the Sandhills region! This meeting will be co-hosted with the NC Longleaf Coalition and will include:
- Meeting August 10, Millstone 4-H Camp (coffee, snacks, and lunch provided): 8:30am-5pm View the draft agenda here
- Social August 10 (Drink tickets and shuttles to/from hotel provided), Railhouse Brewery: 7-10pm
- Field trip August 11, Sandhills Game Lands, Camp Mu-Sha-Ni, private land (water, snacks, and lunch provided): 8am-1pm View the draft agenda here
There is a hotel room block available at $78.90/night at the SureStay Plus Hotel By Best Western Southern Pines Pinehurst Mention "NC Prescribed Fire Council" when contacting the hotel (910-692-0640) to make your reservation. In order to receive the discounted rate, reservations must be made by July 8. Other hotels in the area are available, however shuttles to and from the social will only be offered at the Best Western.
Society of American Foresters CFEs are expected for both the meeting and field trip.
A silent auction will be held at the in-person meeting, and those with items to donate should contact Terry Sharpe at sharpetl@rsnet.org or Carmella Stirrat at carmella.stirrat@tnc.org. There will also be a photo slideshow for both in-person and virtual attendees, and those with photos to contribute can send them to Thomas Crate at thomas.crate@ncparks.gov.
Attendance Options
There are several options for meeting attendance. Prices are based on the membership fee structure outlined on the PFC website. We do plan to provide a virtual attendance option in which attendees can watch the meeting live via Zoom. In-person meeting attendance includes lunch and snacks as well as the evening social.
- In-Person Meeting: Regular Annual Member - $65
- In-Person Meeting: Current Lifetime Member - $50
- In-Person Meeting: New Lifetime Member - $200
- In-Person Meeting: Current Student Member - $50
- In-Person Meeting: New Student Member - $75
- Virtual Meeting: Regular Annual Member - $15

- Virtual Meeting: Current Student Member - Free
- Virtual Meeting: New Student Member - $25
Field trip attendance is an additional $16 which includes transportation to field sites, snacks, and lunch. When registering, be sure to select the field trip add-on if you plan to attend. Virtual attendees may still attend the (in-person) field trip (but will also need to select it as an add-on to their ticket).
